ROBERT LESSER DESIGN
Robert Lesser is a senior creative director with more than 20 years of experience creating award-winning design and brand building.
After graduating with a BFA from Syracuse University, Robert started his career in New York City with renowned designer Will Hopkins. The Hopkins-Bowman studio specialized in book design, magazine design, and consulting. Robert contributed to the design of Mother Earth News, American Health, ASMP, Sports Illustrated, and The National Sports Daily.
After moving to Boston, Robert worked at Brady & Paul Communications where he acted as AD. The studio focused on editorial design with a strong emphasis on branding, redesigning, and consulting.
Next was the job where Robert had the biggest impact. As Creative Director, Robert helped CFO magazine (a small-business trade publication) grow into an international brand. Owned by The Economist, CFO became one of the country’s largest controlled-circulation magazines with a U.S. circulation of 500,000, and an annual revenue of $20 million. Robert also oversaw three sister publications, CFO Europe, CFO China, and CFOit. He was responsible for all aspects of branding, website design, marketing, and CFO’s research division.
You will currently find Robert acting as Creative Director at New England Home magazine. NEH is a hugely successful shelter magazine based in the New England region. NEH produces fourteen magazines per year, two award programs, and an industry conference. Robert has redesigned the magazine, website, and all marketing materials. He oversees all aspects of the brand including print, web, and social media. And NEH is expanding. Robert is the creative lead on two new magazine launches, RISE and NEXT.
Robert is focused on visionary design, and brand and team building.
He has received more than 60 national design awards from such prestigious organizations as Communication Arts, the Society of Publication Designers, Folio, and the American Society of Business Publication Editors.
